Many individuals continue to live at home with their friends and family members. That arrangement is often successful because of personal assistance services, which provide help in the home as well as access to activities in the community. 

Personal assistance may range from a couple of hours of in-home services for dressing and bathing, or homemaking services, to assistance with transportation for recreational, medical, or other personal needs.
