Please accept this as the official notification of the documents that you are REQUIRED to provide to the Human Resources Department BEFORE being considered for employment.

  1. Proof of completion of high school, a GED. College degree is required for some positions
  2. Documents that establish identity and employment eligibility include copy of driver’s license or State-issued ID and Social Security Card.
  3. Three-year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required for positions that involve driving a company vehicle.

To expedite the employment process, it is recommended that you secure these documents and have them available should you be called for an interview.

The following convictions may result in the agency rescinding any job offer made:

(1) Any felony or;
(2) A misdemeanor involving physical harm to a person including but not limited to neglect or abuse or a misdemeanor involving financial harm/exploitation to a person including but not limited to theft, misappropriation of funds, fraud or breach of fiduciary duty; or
(3) a misdemeanor involving illicit drugs, drug/alcohol misuse or sexual misbehavior (e.g. indecent exposure, voyeurism) within ten years prior to employment with OGC; unless the misdemeanor conviction is a first and only occurrence of a DUI (DUI 1), public intoxication, or simple possession of marijuana, then it shall not have occurred during a period of less than one (1) year prior to employment

Any job offers will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of the following.

  • Reference and Background checks
  • Finger Printing – (See the attached Request for an Exemption if you have a felony or misdemeanor conviction)
  • TB Testing
  • Drug Screening
  • Medical Screening (physical)

Any and all employment offers would be contingent upon successful completion of the entire OGC employment process. Assuming you are offered employment, paid training must be successfully completed prior to starting your job.

The entire process from application submittal to job offer may take from 11 to 30 days depending upon your level of cooperation.

If the background check results received are deemed unsatisfactory, you will be notified in writing.

Job Summary

The standard hours of this newly developed position are negotiable if the needs of the department and agency are consistently met. The person filling this role will:

Establish and maintain professional partnerships with Orange Grove administrators, applicable community partners, and the Human Resource Board Committee.

Meet the agency's HR needs by being accessible; offering fair, consistent guidance; strategically planning, and implementing regulatory controls and procedures for the department and agency; ensuring policies are up to date and accurate, overseeing recruitment, on-boarding, and retention; overseeing payroll; overseeing employee benefits, including worker's compensation claims and required reporting; and leading with the upmost integrity and highest HR standards.

Ensure each established regulatory control meets or exceeds generally acceptable HR professional standards of accountability, quality performances, and confidentiality.

Maintain a flexible work schedule to attend trainings and meetings, and to consult with agency administration as needed.

Plan, organize, and provide ongoing training to Orange Grove administrators and employees regarding HR functions and compliance standards.

Ensure agency HIPAA compliance, DOL compliance, and the consistent implementation of professional HR standards.

Implement and co-facilitate ongoing HR incident review meetings.

Work with State surveyors to ensure timely and accurate reporting of any requested documents.

Consult with the Director of Human Resources, the Director of Compliance & Training, and the CEO on allegations of improper conduct; participate in investigations and grievance hearings and ensure all needed follow up is completed.

Ensure each employee's position, time, and talents are valued and that they are professionally assisted by the HR department.

Develop a HR quality improvement plan; provide the CEO, agency administrators, and HR Board Committee written quarterly QI updates.

Consistently motivate, evaluate, mentor, train, and discipline staff as needed to ensure ongoing quality of supports and quality of performance.

Seek ongoing educational and training  opportunities for the betterment of agency quality improvements and personal professional development.

Serve as an agency administrator by participating in Director's meetings, giving and receiving agency relevant feedback, and consistently demonstrating agency leadership.

Work collaboratively, agency-wide to implement HR compliance standards and to uphold and promote the mission, policies, and procedures of Orange Grove.

Educational Requirements,Skills and Job Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  •  Minimum 5 years professional Human Resources leadership experience required. Experience with prioritizing multiple tasks to completion and producing professional quality results required. Experience with Paycom software preferred. Experience with professional staff development required.
  • Fluent computer skills required. Professional demeanor and dedication to continually improving the work conditions and professional development of each employee required. Commitment to CQL Basic Assurances, and adherence to all State and Federal labor laws, HIPAA guidance, and compliance standards required.
  • Good overall physical health and personal stamina. Physical examination, including TB skin test or chest x-ray required prior to employment. Ability to perform essential duties of management, training, mentoring, recruiting, and strategic planning for the agency's HR needs.
