Employment Services

Orange Grove Employment Services help people we support achieve their dream of steady, productive employment. By matching peoples' skills and abilities to their best fit for work, our trained Employment Specialists and Job Coaches ensure the success of both the individual and the employer: the individual by providing necessary supports; the employer by helping them meet their business goals through their employees.
People supported in Orange Grove Day Services are encouraged to consider employment as their first and best option. Vocational options are discussed at least annually with each individual. Employment Exploration and Discovery services help assess skills, strengths and interests. We also support individual job-seekers by accompanying them to job fairs, helping them access community employment resources, and working with local employers to understand the benefits of hiring a diverse and inclusive work force, and take down potential barriers to employment.
From marketing displays for Moon Pie, to meals served at CHI Memorial Hospital, to the nuts and bolts of heavy construction equipment built by Komatsu, the people we support in Orange Grove Employment Services are key partners in the success of many businesses all over greater Chattanooga, working alongside co-workers and others in the community.
Orange Grove believes EVERYONE can work! We are here to help. Contact us to become an Orange Grove Employment Partner.
Meet Amy

Amy Annerton started coming to the day program at Orange Grove in 2005 and soon moved into a residential home to gain independence. Amy always wanted to have a "people-facing" job, but she struggled with anxiety, which held her back from thriving in work and the community.
Through working and encouraging, Amy has overcome her anxiety and transitioned well into new roles. She now works five days a week assisting customers at the DuPont Recycling drop-off on Access Road. Amy's work is extremely important to her. She loves her job helping customers unload the recyclables from their cars and hates it when she has to miss work.
Amy also loves community service like volunteering with the Ladies of Endurance #874 Order of the Eastern Star and playing bingo with the elderly at a local nursing home. She attends Abba's House every Sunday with her housemates, where she participates in the "Sonshine" class before the service.
In her free time, she enjoys doing word finder puzzles, but she loves spending time with her nephews most of all.
Amy is a great representative of Orange Grove and embodies the mission to recognize, support, and celebrate the qualities of the individual.
Orange Grove partners with local businesses to provide jobs for the individuals we serve.

Ticket to Work Program
Orange Grove is Chattanooga's only Ticket to Work Employment Network!
Ticket to Work is a free and voluntary program that supports career development for Social Security disability beneficiaries. The goal of the program is to help people with disabilities progress toward financial independence.
Orange Grove's Ticket to Work program can help Social Security beneficiaries obtain services and resources they may need to find and maintain employment while providing a safety net to help during the transition from disability check to paycheck. Orange Grove works with Vocational Rehabilitation to support individuals whose cases have been closed. With the help of the Ticket to Work program, people who receive Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) can take the next step toward work while maintaining their benefits.
